Releasing Stress to Keep Skin Young-looking

Have you noticed how your skin looks older after a week at the office? You might not believe it, but stress does make skin look and feel older. If there's too much of stress, or you are often subjected to it, your skin may not have the time to recover fully, and thus, it will tend to stay looking old or tired even after office hours or even when you're on vacation. Skin takes time to recover from stress.

Muscles underneath the skin are like rubber bands. When new, they are elastic and spring back to their original state. The muscles of the face show how tired you are. Tired muscles sag and lose elasticity. Thus, your face also sags if it experiences too much stress without time to recover. Apart from the facial muscles, the skin over them tend to follow habitual expressions like frowning. If you frown too often, your skin will adapt and form lines that will make it appear that you're frowning even when you're not.

In order to counter the effects of stress on your facial skin, it is important to release stress and relax your face at special times of the day (or night). How do you release stress? Well, you can sit or lie down for starters; close your eyes and breathe. Feel the parts of your face where there's tension, and release them. If you feel that your brow is a bit knotted, imagine letting go of the tension and your muscles will relax. You may suddenly discover that your face has a few tension points that require attention. Do not rush things. Go over each point and release the stress for each one relaxing them and imagining the stress and negative feelings leaving you.

Some may call this exercise yoga or meditation, but you don't need to call it anything. All you need to know is how to do the tension-release process regularly. You can do it in your special place of relaxation. It may be indoors or outdoors, but it should be a place where you can relax and not remind you of work and the office. You don't need to use any music, but if you prefer, you can play some soothing tunes. If you make a habit of doing this, you will notice a change in your face and others will too! Best of all is that you don't need to spend anything for this facelift.

Why Soap Selection Is Important to Keeping Good Skin

At every soap aisle of many supermarkets, you'd see so many kinds of soap that sometimes, it's hard to choose which is good for your skin. Often, it's the price that we look at, but cheaper doesn't always mean good. Some soaps seem to have more of the additives than the soap itself. Otherwise, there's just soap but of the kind that's more suitable for washing your clothes. Either way, your skin can can be damaged instead of made to be better using these soaps.

For everyday and general use, a mild cleansing soap is enough. There shouldn't be too much perfume and if there is some used, it should ideally be from the natural ingredients themselves and not synthesized with a mineral petroleum base. Herbs, which are now typically used for specialty "gourmet" soaps are perfect if you know what you need. But then again, some extracts can be too harsh for sensitive skin - otherwise they can be too strong for the nose and the scents may not appeal to you or those around you. If you're not that experimental, stick to common fragrances that anyone can appreciate.

One of the best selling Nu Skin products is the Body Bar. It is such a hit because it isn't exactly soap. In fact it's 100% soapless! It looks like soap but it's not soap. Yet it cleanses like soap but so mildly and gentle that you can use it everyday and each time you do so, you condition your skin at the same time. It doesn't remove nutrients, but nourishes it and also help protect it from drying up. It's uplifting grapefruit scent also makes for a good bath experience.

The most amazing of all is that its natural ingredients - which include jojoba oil, aloe vera, allantoin, and Vitamin E are so safe they can be eaten. To demonstrate its palatability, Korean distributors actually ate the Body Bar with no ill effects! Of course, the Nu Skin body bar is not really meant to be eaten, but it drives the point that it's good for the skin. Skin Brightening Systems

by Kyle Widner

here are a number of different products to choose from when it comes to selecting a skin brightening system. None of these kits which are devoted to making your complexion look fresher, clearer or younger are very cheap. Be prepared to spend at least one hundred dollars on a do it at home type of kit.

Name brands or dermatologist brands can run as high as five hundred dollars for one skin brightening system. How cheap your skin brightening system is might also depend where you are in the world. They are definitely sold for less in countries where plastic surgery is cheaper such as Malaysia and Costa Rica.

The intention of a skin brightening system is to restore your skin's healthy glow while protecting it against future discoloration. You should also check to make sure that the skin brightening product does not contain hydroquinone. This is a chemical that lightens the skin and that has also been known to cause scarring in some individuals.

Generally there are three separate components in any kit like this. Usually there is some kind of Brightening Complex which usually consists of medicinal or botanical brighteners. Most of these kits are fairly organic and include such ingredients as grapefruit, rice bran, mulberry root, yellow dock root and kiwi fruit.

You usually apply this in the morning and wear it under your make up all day. Some companies apply a bit of gold sparkle to this or a green under base to make you appear like you are glowing.

The second product that is usually in this kit is some kind of exfoliate. This is a very effective facial scrub. Some companies call this a microfoliant. It is used to rub off the top layer of your skin. Most of these exfoliants that come with these skin brightening kits are made out of rice bran which helps to smooth the skin gently.

Once your skin is rinsed and patted dry from exfoliation you usually apply the third product that is usually a component in these kits. This is usually some kind of mild skin peeling agent with a bit of natural bleach in it. Common ingredients would be lactic acid and vitamin C. If you are freckled or have hyperpigmentation you can apply this product in the pigmented areas.

However it is very effective applied all over the skin to help balance out your complexion. Once this is absorbed you can put your usual moisturizer over it. It will still be just as effective. The same thing goes for the day cream that you smooth on in the morning.

Most people don't see an immediate change in their skin tone with a skin brightening kit. It sometimes takes a long as six to eight weeks before the skin looks any lighter or any hyper pigmentation is actually bleached out for good. However you may notice that your skin looks more youthful and has a healthier looking glow within days.

Another thing to consider is that a skin brightening kit is less effect on skin damage caused by hormones then it is on damage caused by the sun.

How To Get Healthy Glowing Skin

by Marilynn Syrett

Beauty lays skin deep, and skin care products only enhance it. But for skin care products to be really effective, you need to exercise some healthy habits too. After all there is no point sealing a wall if you plan to strike it off again.
Here are some healthy skin care habits that you can follow at your end to get natural nourishment and make the skin ready so skin care products can be effective.
Characters of a Healthy Skin
Healthy skin is soft and supple. There are no pigments and scars on it. Healthy skin shines in the sun and reflects back. Skin is firm and has no wrinkles or fine lines
Here are some tips that help you get that healthy skin:
Diet: Eat lots and lots of fruits and vegetables, cereals and whole grain breads and dairy products. Avoid eating chocolates, oily food and other sweet foods. Don't eat any food item that you are sensitive to.
Water: Drink at least 8 glasses of water in a day. Maintain the moisture levels of the body by taking plenty of liquid intakes like juices, milk etc.
Sleep: Have to 8-10 hours of sleep every night. A good sleep rejuvenates the skin and relieves it from the day long stress
Fresh air: For good skin, oxygen is a vital element. The blood cells in your body carry oxygen to all the other parts of your body including the skin. Breathing stagnant air won't do you any good. But taking in deep breaths of fresh air fills the lungs with pure air and acts as an effective beauty treatment.
Exercise: Instead of sweating it out at the gym, it's a better deal to go out for a brisk walk every day. Exercising also improves the oxygen circulation in the body.
Emotions: What you feel inside reflects best on your face. Depression or sour moods often give way to acne and blemishes. Therefore, always try to be in a cheerful mood and be good. Don't sweat it! Life is good!

There are many herbs and oils that have beneficial properties and make great additions to soap and other bath products. Some have natural astringent, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory properties. Chamomile: With anti-inflammatory properties and a soft apple-like fragrance, chamomile is very soothing and relaxing to the senses and is very beneficial to inflamed and irritated skin.

Green Tea: Green tea contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties and has a refreshing fragrance. Studies show that it can protect the skin against sun damage.
Glycerine: Glycerine is a thick, soft, and clear liquid that comes from animals and vegetables. It is an excellent moisturizer because it holds moisture to the skin and prevents it from drying out. As it is not an oil, it mixes well with water and will not separate.

Skin Care for Sensitive Skin

by Ping Der

For those out there that with sensitive skin like me, sometimes buying skin care products might prove to be somewhat of a challenge. Unless there is a sample for you to try in store, you really do not know how a product will react with your skin. Even then, sometimes it takes more then a few uses before finding out.
The term sensitive skin is actually fairly broad and doesn't mean the same thing for everyone. For those like me, it means their skin is often dry and feels itchy. Usually during the winter, whenever I finish a shower, my skin would get a tightening and itchy feeling. For others it is more along the lines of having allergic skin. Under certain conditions, their skin would become red, develop rashes, or get a burning feeling.
The causes of sensitive skin vary too. One main reason is genetics and people are just born with sensitive skin. Another reason is that it may be caused by the environment or even a person's diet.
Usually using the wrong skin care products would cause the symptoms for people with sensitive skin to occur or become more serious. Such as using, the wrong types of soap may cause your skin to feel drier and itchier. Or the wrong face creams might cause your face to become red or even have an irritating feeling. Therefore, it is very important for people with sensitive skin to find the right type skin care products.
Here are some quick tips for those with sensitive skin.
Avoid products with harsh ingredients. The harsh chemicals used in some skin care products are a main reason for the reactions on sensitive skin. A chemical such as alcohol, which is commonly found in toners and foundations, is more damaging for those with sensitive skin. Therefore, try to buy skin care products with all natural or milder ingredients.
Buy scent free products or products with very light scents. The chemical in a product that gives it its scent is sometimes another cause of a reaction with sensitive skin. Products with heavy scents usually produces more serious effects.
Look for products labeled for sensitive-skin. Many producers of skin care products have products especially formulated for those with sensitive skin type. They are usually tested on sensitive skin types to make sure there are no harmful effectives. Generally, these product are scent-free and contains milder ingredients. This makes it much easier for those with sensitive skin to find the right product.
Protect your skin from the sun. The sun is often more damaging to those with sensitive skin care. For some people, they have sensitive skin due to damage from exposure to the sun. Be sure to wear sun block or sunscreen with adequate SPF protection if your skin is going to be exposed to the sun.
Drink enough water daily. It is important for those with dry sensitive skin to keep their skin as hydrated as possible.

Do You Know How To Have Beautiful Skin?

by John Russel

The older you are, the more important it is to get started with a quality skin care regimen right away. Here is three things you can do to make your skin start looking beautiful today.
Use these 3 Simple Steps Everyday
1. Cleanse Daily - but gently. Too many professional skin care products strip your facial skin of the natural elements it needs to keep your skin soft and supple. Using a mild cleanser with a very light, delicate scent that won't leave your face feeling tight and dry after washing is a basic way to leave you glowing all day.
2. Exfoliate Your Face Daily - Many exfoliating products can be too harsh to use daily, but there are many excellent products that give you gentle exfoliating for your face that can be used daily. There are some great natural skin care products that are used at night before bed, which not only exfoliate the grime and pollution of the day from your delicate facial skin, they also moisturize, soften, and supplement your body's collagen and antioxidant production.
3. Moisturize Daily - Use a dry skin care anti aging lotion each morning after cleansing. Excellent high quality moisturizers not only replace vital moisture in your face that leaves it feeling very soft and smooth, but it will also supplement the antioxidants your skin needs to stay looking healthy and young. If you use an SPF of 25, it will also help protect your face from sun damage throughout the day. This moisturizer goes on with a wonderfully light feeling, and you'll actually start seeing results from it within minutes.
More facial skin care tips on how to have beautiful skin
Most cleansers, makeup, and other beauty products are full of harsh synthetic chemicals that may be harmful to skin. Natural solutions for healthy skin care are better for you, support a cleaner environment and natural techniques work at least as well.
Essential oils are some of nature's best helpers in almost every aspect of health. Many times more potent than dried herbs, essential oils contain all the healing properties of a plant in a very concentrated form. For this reason, they are best used in tiny amounts and are often diluted for skin care.
Sea salt is the world's most mineral-rich exfoliant. The minerals in sea water are known to nourish and heal skin. The same minerals can be found in unprocessed, mineral-rich sea salt, and the coarseness of salt makes it a perfect exfoliant. Try the following whole-body sea salt scrub.
- 1 Cup Sea Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Apricot or Almond Oil
- 5-6 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil
1. Put salt in a bowl and add the oils.
2. Mix well.
3. Store in covered container until ready to use.
This recipe is best used in the shower after washing. Rub a small handful of the salt scrub all over your body in brisk circular motions. Afterwards, use a moisturizing anti aging skin care product.
Fatty oils restore skin's moisture and flexibility. Part of the benefit of the salt scrub recipe is the apricot or almond oil it contains, which leaves a nice glow and moisture in the skin.
Using an oil cleansing method, surprisingly, is a simple and effective way to clean your face. Using olive oil, castor oil, and hot water leaves a lasting glow. Fatty vegetable oils can be used as moisturizers, makeup remover, cleansers if you want to stay all natural.
Do you know how to have beautiful skin?
In summary it's not enough to get a facial to keep your skin clear and beautiful. You need to have a great home skin-care routine.
1. Get a professional facial to deep cleanse your skin at least four times a year, as the seasons change. Every 4-6 weeks is ideal.
2. Throw away the soap and use quality skin care products that are right for your skin type.
3. Wear sunscreen, even on cloudy days and in the winter. Use a good quality, high-SPF sunscreen. Sun damage is the single most important cause of premature aging.
4. Cut out skin-damaging habits like smoking, excessive drinking, and tanning booths.
